  1. DJ vs Borg was booke for UFC 216. Its a six fight main card. As of now, Tony vs Kevin is expected to main event. I think Dana was trying to tell us that Ray vs Dj wouldnt sell. He wanted TJ Dillashaw to get the shot. Valentina should blame herself. If a title fight was that close, the judges will usually go to the champion. Round 3 was so close, that on the post fight both Micheal Bisping and Tyron Woodley thought it should have been a 10-10. If you listen to Amanda on the post show, her goal was to have to need the judges cause she wanted to prove to people that she could beat Valentina in a title fight. I wonder if that crowd was DRUNK or pissed Amanda vs Valentina was the main event. LOL! Alan was right, dont be on a card with Amanda. She has NEVER FLAT out Main event a card that we knew ahead of time. I could see either Rocky Pennington or Cat Zingano get the next shot at Amanda. It depends on when Amanda wants to come back. Nina fights in November at UFC Fight Night 120 and it sounds like Amanda might get surgery for her condition from fighting in Vegas 3 times in a row.

  3. It seems to me that there are a lot of contradictions which I don't get. With some fighters (e.g. Cormier) people will talk about how great the takedown defence is and it's a big deal that Jon was able to take him down. But now when Amanda takes Valentina down, the conversation is muted and the focus is switched to "wellllll she took her down BUT she didn't do any damage." Aren't those 2 separate things? Taking a fighter down is pretty difficult (when tired in the 5th round, as well), it SHOULD carry a lot of weight on the scorecards. "Damage" is always controversial because as has been debated before, guys like the Diaz brothers can start bleeding from a jab.
bisping fights safe because he doesn't defend the belt against the top contenders. He's scared of losing the belt.

  4. Valentina won the fight.
She took the most rounds, but yeah…these decisions are always biased toward the champ.

I don't believe that anyone came away from it thinking
that Nunes was the better fighter that night.

Honestly, it should have been a draw.

  5. Tbh Shev only has herself to blame. As the challenger you have to realize the judges will almost NEVER give you the win over a champion if it's a razor close decision. You have to go out there and BEAT a champion.Cant be conservative.I really dont remember the last time a challenger beat a champion in a razor close decision in MMA.

  6. Totally agree with both of you. Shev played it too conservative for a title fight and she should have pushed the action from the start. When you give up the first round, it really puts you at a deficit in the overall fight. BTW Karyn is one of my favorite interviewers! I love it when she interviews Gegard – when can we expect this? 🙂

  7. Amanda had the perfect game plan,.unlike Holly Holm who rushed in the whole night and got countered over and over,.. Amanda knew what to do and still save her energy while doing it,..not to mention frustrating the shit out of the DUD,..look at the end of the fight when she was on her back,..kicking Amanda off and then giving the finger hahahahahah,…pure BRAT
