  1. If the rankings and "UFC-Media-Pushes" were in accordance more so to reward merit instead of other supposedly fan-attracting factors (hello Paige & Sage) , the fighters wouldn't have to put forth calculated "trash talk" to such vulgar and outrageous lengths.

  3. 18:10 Well… I really don't like Colvington, but, when in that situation Demian would be a "striker" Colby would just take them down. But it's Demian, regardless if you're winning or losing on the feet, you're not going to take him down. 😉

And that Negan outfit is spot on!

  5. Eerrgh…I don't buy the whole sensitive side of hating on Colby.I was never really a fan of Colby, but the way he handled himself and self propelled his heel status after dismantling Mia was very well executed. Props to Colby for pulling it off.

  8. 7:36 "I'm disappointed by the fact that it works"
This is exactly how I feel! A good portion of MMA fans (moreso these days) are more similar to WWE fans than actual sports fans. It's a reality that I don't like but I guess I just have to accept. Seems like they need to see "hype", "drama" and all that BS to get excited for fights. UFC's probably loving this of course – they just wanna make $$. They rather have more of these WWE-type of fans because that's how they can make as much money, as quickly as possible From UFC's pov, If hype and polarizing characters would make more money, so be it. Fck meritocracy. As a longtime MMA fan, that's just sad….

  12. You have the right to be upset and not like Colby but he didnt say anything offensive. He said where he was in Brazil was a dump and the people in the area where he was were filthy animals because they were rambunctious and shouting negatives at hi, saying he was gonna die all before hand. He didnt say fuck all brazilians or fuck Brazil, just responed with the same enegry he was met with. Lot of guys get this going to Brazil but they take it in, i think its part of their culture with mma to do that. I'm just arguing its not totally disrespectful like everyone seems to feel when he was met with disrespect and didnt even go that hard at scale

    • You love EVERYTHING your friends do? I did love working with Chael and really like him as a friend. And, I still don't like some of the things he said in the lead up to the Silva fight. I don't live in an all-or-nothing world. There are a lot of grey areas. I don't dump friends because I don't agree with 100% of the things that come out of their mouths…

  13. Karyn wtf just cause you went to Brazil a few times does not mean you know anything about the place! You probably went to the places that were pristine and look pretty…however you do not know that with every "pretty" place in Brazil, there are hundreds of poor slums that are ignored and the government hides. When they were hosting the olympics, they were building large barriers in front of poor areas to block them from tourist-eyes. There is a even vox documentary exposing this!

Also, WHO CARES if Colby called Brazil a dump lmao! Chael called NYC a dump many times buildup to fight against Wanderlei, I didn't see the New-Yorkers harass him and force security in his hotel room!

    • Hahahaha! Belo Horizonte is hardly "pretty!" And I've traveled all over the world and have OBVIOUSLY seen favelas, ghettos, etc. But yeah, since the guy currently in the White House calls that place a dump maybe I shouldn't worry about it that much…

  14. Colby had to have security not only escort him out, but follow him around everywhere; and even needed a few guards staying awake in front of his door while he was sleeping. He was in LEGITIMATE risk of being hurt by fans. Nowhere in the US, Canada, China, Japan, or Europe would that be the case, even if you insulted the whole city or country. Brazilian fans have been known to say racist and homophobic slurs to many fighters regardless of their attitude towards them. Of course, if Colby said something actually racist or homophobic to Brazil, then he should be suspended. BUT calling people "filthy animals" in reference to their BEHAVIOR is not racist. Brazil is not a race, it's a country…there were many different races in the crowd (black, white, latino, etc.).

Karyn, you are friends with MICHAEL FREAKING BISPING! A guy who's called fighters he fight against "faggots" and spit on them! How the hell are you going to take the high-horse and call Colby out for simply calling a place a dump lmao.

  15. Great podcast, but I respectfully disagree with Karyn on some things. First of all, what he said isn't racist. Brazilian isn't a race, it's a nationality. No better, but let's not throw around accusations of racism when there isn't any.Second. You said "did you really think you were gonna die" about the chants. Ok, sure, but let's apply that to Colby. Did Brazilians and foreigners really think Brazil is a dump because of what he said? No, not really, hence the reaction in favor of Brazil. And by the way, imagine being literally surrounded by screaming people saying that you're gonna die while throwing stuff at you and having to be escorted out by security. Come on, don't tell me that isn't scary, especially being the one it's addressed to.And as an aside. You mentioned mansplaining. I didn't see all your comments obviously, but the examples you used weren't really mansplaining. I bet if any male reporter/commentator/presenter disagreed with Colby saying those things they'd also be told by fans that they were ok with it when Conor or Chael did it.Still, great podcast, and cool outfits!

    • I'll give you your due that it's not necessarily racist to call them "filthy pigs." If you've followed me for any length of time you'll know that I don't cry racism immediately (though that doesn't mean it isn't sometimes a factor). As for the mansplaining; they were. The tone of the tweets (all men) were quite dismissive and they acted like they were introducing me to Chael (a guy I worked with for a couple years!) and the concept of "the heel." Apparently, some people think this is my first rodeo… Thanks for tuning in, glad you enjoyed the costumes!

    • +Karyn Bryant I love your work like i commented many times under your videos. But i see it the same as SwissBliss.
You can not take the "you will die chants" and throwing things at him not serious but take the comments from Covington serious. Its not fair to the fighter and its kind of a double standard.
And like he said, Brazilian isnt a race. I think Covington meant the behaviour rather than there ethnic background to be compared to animals.Even though i dont like that he disrespected everybody for a behaviour of a few.
And calling stupid comments by a few mans mansplaining is ridicioulos.
You are such a powerful women, who works on a big stage and earned the spot you are in by doing things like learning a second language just to be able to communicate with more fighters.
Mainsplaining sounds just like racism. Its thrown out so fast these days, you cant critize a women, a culture, a behaviour or anything without getting labeld as something.
The people who wanted to introduce you to chael are just unatucaded in the sport, but it has nothing to do with beeing a male and wanting to school a women.
( sry for my mistakes, like you learn portuguese, im still in the proccess to learn english ) 😀
Have a nice day and dont take it to serious 🙂

  16. First of all. I dont like the comments that Covington made and I would like to see him get knocked out next.
    BUT
To say you shouldnt take the "I will die" chant serious but on the other hand take Covingtons comments word by word and interpretate every possible thing into it is a bit of double standart.
And I think calling them "filthly aninmals" was meant to describe thr behaviour towords him and not about the "race". Beeing brasilian isnt beeing part of a race. There are white brazilians like demian and blacks like anderson and so on.
Thats like calling americans a bad thing. Beeing american also isnt a race.

Before somebody comments, I want to mention again that I didnt like what covington said.

  17. As a brazilian i have to say, Covington is just a idiot, u can se that he does not know how to trash talk in a good way, and when open his mouth only talk shit. The guy work for a organization founded by brazilians and train in ATT famous for have many top brazilian fighters haahahah
This guy is cringe as fuck, and won demian that is the only top 5 that is not a complete fighter, Colby is underdog against any other top 5 fighter
Pray for Colby, he is dead now
