  2. Awesome podcast as always. Nice treat to get this episode before all the fun starts at UFC 248 week. Everything was set up for Joe B On Kawnobi (sp) to have his moment. For how chaotic the week was with Deiveson not making weight, I knew Joe would handle it like a pro. He was nice enough to sit down with Mike Bohn of MMA junkie after the official weigh in and said it was the easiest cut he had (hence 124.5). It didnt bother him that Deiveson missed it, I think it was more his team and his wife Megan who were bothered by it cause fighters this year are 3-0 when missing weight. Grant Dawson who was 149.5 lbs also missing weight. I hope they do a rematch with those 2. From what i read on mmafighting on Monday Wahil gave the impression the UFC wants to do a rematch at UFC 252. I think it will come down to how quickly can they get the rematch booked. I would say wait till after 3. Jussier Formaga fights 5. Brandon Moreno at UFC Fight Night 170 Kevin Lee vs Charles Oliveria. I agree with Alan and Karyn about Cutelba vs Ankalovev. They described my thoughts exactly too. I think Kevin McDonald was a little too quick to stop it.

  3. I love you too but you guys can't blame the rest for that stopping. The fighter should never have tried to do what didn't work for Anderson Silva in the fight with Chris Weidman. The blame should go exactly on the fighter and the fighter only. Does it matter that he was pretending to be hurt he was trying to fool the other fighter into thinking he was more hurt than what he was and it's the fighters fault not the referee's fault at the referee fell for The acting. The moral of that story was if it didn't work for Anderson Silva why does someone who is nowhere near Anderson Silva at the point whenever silver was the champion think he could get away with doing it? You get what you get because you did what you did. There's only one person to blame for that stoppage and it's the fighter who tries to fool his opponent but ended up fooling the referee. The referee's job is to protect the fighter and if he's got one of his Fighters appearing to be in danger it's his job to protect him from unnecessary damage. This would all be a moot point if he really was hurt And ended up taking unnecessary shots because people would be attacking him for not stopping it soon enough. The bottom line is all these people who are criticizing that referee have not trained and are not certified to be a referee. They do not have hundreds if not thousands of fight under their belts as a referee. So as The Big Lebowski would say… Well that's just like your opinion man.Joe Rogan is notorious for criticizing the referees or the judges in fights. It should be noted that he does not have any experience in the Octagon. He has zero fights in MMA. He has not trained to either be a ref or a judge, and he has zero fight experience as a referee or judge. So even though Joe Rogan thinks that he's an expert he's not. He has the exact same level of experience in the Octagon as your drunken casual UFC fan at some Dave & Buster's. Meaning Joe Rogan's opinion or Karyn's opinion or Alan's opinion or anyone else's opinion is just that… their opinion. You can agree with them or disagree with them, but it doesn't mean that they are right and that the referee's view was wrong. Because ultimately he's the one who's in the Octagon he's the one who was Charged with calling the fight. He's the one that has the best view in the house because he was right there.I'm not trying to pick on anyone or say that Karyn and Alan are wrong I'm just saying the people need to have a better perspective on this and realize you can't blame the ref for falling for the tactics that the fighter tried to fool his opponent with. just because some people think that they weren't fooled and they were on top of everything that the fighter was trying to do… Doesn't mean that everybody was foaled, because obviously the most important person in that Arena aka the referee was full. So you can't blame him for trying to protect the fighter when he thought the fighter was in danger.

  4. I actually wanted to see what you guys thought about Karolina Kowalkiewicz's last loss, which was her fourth straight. She even got injured afterward and now apparently needs eye surgery. Definitely wondering if she should continue fighting. It's hard to watch her struggle.

  5. As soon as Figueredo missed weight I knew he'd win. The UFC needs backup fighters in place for title fights. Yoel with the 3 peat should've forced card building changes. The UFC will never be a top 4 sport until they learn from mistakes, respect ranking systems, and remove Dana.
