How's Karyn's Portuguese?
She still has some work to do in terms of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. When talking about Ronda, she said "HE" has a very good BJJ". Her accent sounds stereotypically american . She uses the wrong pronouns and articles. Amanda was very nice to her, speaking slowly, word by word. But I applaud Karyn for trying, Portuguese is a very tricky language, most brazilians cannot speak it properly.
To be honest with you, it's more of an issue with confidence speaking the language. I actually know a LOT more than I used here. The problem is remembering it in the moment.
Oi, Karyn. Minha intenção não era ridicularizar seu português. Não sei se você já assistiu aquele filme Whiplash, um dos personagens fala no final do filme: "There are no two words in the english language more harmful than GOOD JOB". Ja ouvi muitos elogios, mas meu ingles só melhorou quando alguem apontou meus erros. Espero o mesmo pra você.
I'm Brazilian and i think her Portuguese is excellent, better than SOME BRAZILIANS. She just have an accent which is normal. And cut her some slack, sometimes she makes these tiny mistakes that we are not used to hear and it catches our attention, but you can perfectly make up what she is trying to say.
